LD49 - Release note


That is our build version for Ludum Dare 49 - Penduka v.0.07. In that build we tried hard to mid-finalize a journey for and with the player. A lot of pixel art and sounds were discarded due to the deadline. And we did it!


Our journey

For the past 3 or so days we have been involved with game design and prototyping for Ludum Dare 49. Over the weekend We were able to test the initial framework, a game design blocking proposal, the programming using blueprints in the 001 Engine (with some challenging new algorithms that worked really well) and now We are facing redesign and openness to others’ tests and their feedbacks. As the game of a team composed of an Angolan and two Brazilians, we reflect on Afro-Brazilianity and the Brazil-Angola friendship. Reflections and inflections about are present in the plot and game design. That was and is a great experience!

Version 0.07 Alerts!

Collision - Unfortunately the version 0.07 was released with crucial collision bugs. You need to avoid the following map points to go to the next ingame:

Animation - Also we have in the main character animation an animation bug - the “tall form” is not with the backside animation, however we animated it:

Game mechanics - We tried to put a “timer” for day-light but due to the deadline we did not improve it in time.

We know that is a so so broken experience but please try to feel it. Try to feel Penduka!
